Loretta Jean's Story
I had the 'itch' to be an entertainer growing up, and that's what I loved doing most of my 39 years of marriage. I auditioned for a show called the Troopers' Club in Hollywood while I was still doing USO shows on weekends
(from '50 til '54, with another NHHS Alumna, Eva Lee Kuney). I later married that director on the stage where we performed, with Fes Parker (soon to be "Daniel Boone" in those days) as an usher. We were connected to many "Billy Barnes" Musical Revues" in Hollywood,On- 'N- Off Broadway, London, and the Fontainbleu in Miami Beach. All the while, I had one son, who also had the acting bug, and this keeps us still very close because he does videos...Expand for more
and is gracious to include Mom in his work. My husband passed away in '92, I retired from KTLA-TV in '98, have kept busy with aerobic exercising, power walking, and writing poetry, with several works published. My son wants me to write my bio because I moved all my childhood, even was living in Waikiki Beach on Dec.7,1941...Due to a mishap with a vocal chord, I'm now reduced to singing in the shower, but I still love to dance. Also love to do the Senior bus trips to Primm, Laughlin, Vegas or Indian casinos - not more than 2-a-year! I go to the annual NHHS Reunion/Picnic on the school grounds, the last Sunday in June.
